Microwave towers

That's quite an efficient construction crew. All those towers installed in remote places without any road access - all in a few weeks.
Wouldn't happen in real life.

Depends on the number of crews you have working. I worked in a telecom company in the 90's and they had crews that were very fast, such that on a 3 day weekend they could do all the onsite construction they needed to do all in 3 days when they had a property owner that wouldn't agree to their offer for access. The theory was they won't be able to get a judge to stop them over a 3 day weekend and after its set up all the landowner can do is take them to court and argue about the amount of money they need to pay. You would be surprised what can be done and how quickly when speed is all they are focused on.

This is puzzling on several levels. Why couldn't the property owner simply trespass the crew, ideally w/the help of the police? Also, what's to stop the property owner from removing/destroying whatever what was constructed?

My understanding from talking to some of the guys that would do this is that when a property owner would call the police that in the vast majority of instance they were able to bullshit the police that they were following order related to the right of way on the person's property knowing that any county records office would be closed leaving no way to verify that they property owner had or hadn't already given up a right of way on the property. It was shady, but that was what they were doing.
