Faithful to the Richard Wright novel...

Sort of, in the plot at least, modernized to the 21st century. Not a well-done movie, showing Bigger Thomas as slyly intelligent in a ridiculous getup-- green hair and leather jacket emblazoned with slogans, perhaps from the BLM movement. And the ending is different, with a hint of the police dispensing George Floyd justice to Bigger. 6 out of 10 score.
