What happened to Antonio Banderas?

This is like the 3rd or 4th movie I've watched of his on Netlix that seems like direct-to-video Walmart-discount-bin level stuff.

He was never an A-list actor but he used to be in much better stuff, e.g. Zorro, Shrek, Philadelphia, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Assassins...

Does he have a lot of legal bills or something?

He had gotten older and, except for a very few, this affects and limits male actors too.
Some actors try to redefine their image to keep working such as Liam Neeson becoming an action actor and Alex Baldwin become more comedic.
Antonio was never really an A lister but I have to give him some credit. The guy really has gotten himself in very good shape..probably better than Liam.
