S1 ending -- was anyone else expecting a final twist?

Like one that made Cora somehow directly guilty/responsible for Phoebe's death (as in a direct participant, not indirect like she was now)?

I almost feel like this was a missed narrative opportunity in this story, somehow making the murder of Frankie an intentional act designed to help her cover up the murder of her sister. Like if JD is somehow trying to blackmail her in the present for her sister's death, she kills Frankie at the beach and then spins these elaborate yarns about her past. JD's drug dealing gets exposed resulting in his killing, and then she can finally reveal "the truth" -- her sister dying due to her weak health, when the real story is she killed her sister to try and be with JD.

When I got to the end of S1, it *kind of* felt like they forgot to add the end twist.
