Worth a watch?

Has a decent rating and much of the criticisms against it are based on the absurd Netflix marketing calling this 'the scariest film of all time'. I guess it worked as it got people talking and that label has stuck, so many reviews mention that bold claim.

Is this an example of a film getting some unfair disdain due to hyperbolic marketing?
