Should I re-watch Season 1

I gave season 1 a 7/10 but from what I remember it was a fairly complicated story line. Just wondering if I should invest the time.

Yes.

You won't be able to watch season 2 without rewatching season 1 first.

Untrue. I've just watched season 2, 2.5 years after watching season 1 and I understood it. It was hard to follow, but I did. There are recap videos out there too.

Well, that is obviously your prerogative, but I would never cripple my own viewing experience that way.

There are too many characters on this particular show, and all the details matter - I want everything to be fresh in my mind when I watch.

I'll add here that "true" and "untrue" are subjective terms in this context, although I did hear from many people who weren't able to follow season 2 so much time after season 1 passed (case in point - the other thread).

Come on. Just because you can't continue a TV show after a year and a half doesn't mean that others can't. I picked up the threads pretty quickly. I don't consider myself particularly smart. And "cripple my own viewing experience"? That's pretentious.

Try being less absolute in future. Not everything that is true for you is true for everyone else in the world.

Just watched 3 without rewatching 1 and 2.

Not the greatest idea. Well, you will still understand 90% of it, at least, but you will lose some details. And this show IS about details.

So you didn't care for season 3? (No spoilers, please.)

I was on another forum after season 2, and I mean the season was getting great reviews from every outlet (and in my own opinion was even "tighter" than the first), but on that forum everyone was complaining.

And then it turned out they didn't rewatch season 1 prior to watching it. 😄

I think I am going to rewatch the show from the beginning.

I remember I watched season 2 first without rewatching s1, and it was obvious there were some moments I wasn't getting, especially since I no longer remembered the characters' names from before, and there are so many versions of everyone. I then rewatched both seasons, and it was a much more enriching experience, and everything fell into place.

This is the one show, IMO, that needs to be evaluated as a whole.
