My picks for the cast.

Saying that this series (or atleast episodes) will be directed by Danny Boyle and writing is from Simon Beaufoy, who has won an Oscar for writing, it's easy to assume that this show will have a pretty solid cast.

*John Paul Getty III - Paul Dano
- If you look the pictures of actual Getty, he's the actor that came into my mind, also he's often typecast to play characters that receive physical torment, but also I think that Mr. Dano is one of the best actors around and this character would be very suiting and complex enough for him to play. (Though Getty was 16 during this event and Dano is now 32, but it's possible that the series will also tackle on the after events, Getty as adult; his drug addiction and eventual paralyzation, if not then David Mazouz)

*John Paul Getty II - Michael Shannon, Josh Brolin or Greg Kinnear
- This one is tougher because there isn't that many photos of him from that time period.

*John Paul Getty I - Charles Dance
- Based on his actual appearance, and also that Mr. Dance is a very good actor.

*Gordon Getty - TBA, maybe Bruce Greenwood
- I couldn't think of any actor (atleast no one came to mind instantly), I'm not even sure if he had a major part during these events, but he'll probably recur.

*Abigail Harris - TBA, maybe Marisa Tomei or Ashley Judd
-This was the toughest one to pick, cause the only actress that came to mind was a young Carrie Fisher or Emily Watson.

As the title says.

The actual casting is perfect. Sutherland is great.

The casting is great I agree. Sutherland especially. But they are missing the mark, over dramatizing almost every scene, making it all feel like a parody somehow. I wish they chose to go the route of less is more. For example, when the women walked into the room, and saw the tiger.. they screamed and fled and the music was dramatic...just silly. Didnt need to do that. Another example is the head butler. Seems ridiculous. I feel like they want to be Dowton Abbey with a sharp edge, elements of surprise.. Like the duck getting squashed. Just needless. They dont need to do this for the wow factor, when they have a strong cast and storyline. It just falls flat instead. Looks like it gets even more of said above, in next weeks show. Ill give it one more shot.
