Sure, some aspect could have been done better, but this had some real gems. The social commentary was spot on in some points (A Corman version of Idiocracy, for sure), and some of the effects were surprisingly good. I also enjoyed the music (not the "Drive kill" obvious nonsense, but the soundtrack was great)

Bottom line, I enjoyed it. It was over-the-top and imperfect. If you want a bland movie with a billion dollar budget, this isn't for you. I've seen Michael Bay movies that were less enjoyable and made less sense than this movie.

Just finished watching on Netflix. The plan, since the ratings were horrible, was to scan through it and find good parts but I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the entire movie. In my opinion this movie is very much like the original. If you like the original you will probably feel the same about DR 2050. The cast is great for a B movie and so is the acting. Fun flick.

I agree. Super fun and solid b-movie with fun satirizing of the of our corporate/getting-dumber-every-year modern world.
