Is this about Amanda Knox?
Someone told me this, true?
shareActually it's a modern day take on the Agatha Christie novel And Then There Was None

That's what I saw in an article about the show but it doesn't seem that way to me though plot wise

Oh, God- Freeform has become my worst nightmare. Well, here's hoping the show doesn't suck. It looks decent enough from the promos.

I don't see any similarity between this show and the book (or movies, including "Ten Little Indians."
shareThat's a major insult to the best mystery novel ever. You suck.
shareI thought about Amanda Knox when I started seeing the promos

Found this when searching online to see if that was Billy Zane because IMDB didn't list him in the cast. ?
that's what I was thinking when I saw preview of it
No. The idea was inspired by the Amanda Knox story but freeform stated that they are writing their own story. This show will give viewers an Amanda Knox "vibe" but it has nothing to do with that case. It doesn't even take place in Italy.
shareOh please, they obviously stole it from the Knox case. Changing the country doesn't change that.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Agree. If it walks and talks like a duck, it's a duck.
shareSo true! I hope the Knox family sues.

If you think she's guilty, or knows anything about the crime, you must be completely ignoring all of the evidence. Except in the mind of a psycho detective with a long history of prosecuting innocent people, who was even arrested for abuse of power, (look up the Monster of Florence case where he arrested and charged 20 people for what turned out to be a suicide) there has never been a scrap of evidence even hinting at her having anything to do with the murder. The detective was eventually disciplined by the Council of Magistrates for violation of correct procedure in the arrest of Knox.
Or maybe you believe the British tabloids, who posted lie after lie and made a hell of a lot of money off gullible people while doing so.
The guy who really did do it - Rudy Guede - and later admitted he did it alone, got a sweet deal when the psycho detective promised him a light sentence if he named accomplices, who never existed - which the forensics proved.
Yeah, Guede was the actual murderer---and admitted to it, like you said---but the prosecutor of the Knox case was so hellbent on nailing her with the murder---despite the lack of evidence (Guede's DNA was found at the scene, and he admitted to breaking into Knox and Kercher's place) to proved she even did anything to begin with. Also, the motive in the case was totally lacking----why would Knox have supposedly murdered someone she had barely known for even a month at the time? There was just never enough of a motive established for that, and anyone who's actually read up on the case (and read Knox's own book about the case) could see that. And, no, I don't think she did it.
But,yeah, this show (which I've never heard of) is obviously based on the Knox case, even though some details have been changed.
What's so very sad is how you think she knew nothing about it. Seriously, you're a fool.
shareKnox was clearly guilty. She was convicted of murder. Even the most biased and ignorant American cannot ignore that. Knox was a manipulative slut, who behaved suspiciously and tried to blame others for the murder. If she wasn't guilty, she deserved to be. Incidentally, if she didn't know more than she admitted, how could she have known enough to blame anyone else? However you look at it, she is guilty. Unless of course you are a chauvinist American, for whom truth, intelligence and logic are anathema.
shareI'm not sure if they can sue. Since I'm sure eventually the show will get away from the real case since I think that the set up is the only thing that is the same. It's like Law and Order who always rips plots from the headlines but it goes differently.

That's what I thought after seeing previews.
shareThis show is obviously heavily inspired by the Amanda Knox case. Just because they changed it to Britain instead of Italy is not a big deal at all. Her boyfriend is even french like the boyfriend of Amanda Knox.
That being said I can definitely see them taking creative liberties with it, so that they can obviously point and say "Nuh uh this wasn't inspired by Amanda Knox. We are just THAT original". Which we all know that they are not lol.

After watching the first two episodes, it does draw some similarities to the Amanda Knox case. Did the show use that for inspiration?
