I re-watched a few episodes and then saw the season 2 Finale

It was much better than I thought. Not just the finale, but the other parts in previous episodes seemed more solid without a week or more of time between viewings. Still, episode 9 left a bad taste in my mouth. It seemed to be mostly marking time until they could wrap things up.

At least in the finale there were only a few false notes, it played pretty true on themes of comprised values, redemption and remorse.

The show is well set up by the conclusion for another year. Lots of ends loose but not in an unsatisfying way. There's simply more to do for the team.

I'm ready for more, but, I'm not sure the series will survive another year. It is well liked by critics and fans, but there aren't a lot of fans as shown by the weak ratings.

Season 2 was pretty underwhelming. But that decapitation scene in the hospital at the end was clearly a call back to Exorcist III Legion (the only good exorcist sequel besides this series). It makes me wonder if they are re-adapting that story line. Or if Exorcist III is considered canon with this series, if this is the Gemini killer come back again with the help of the Vatican stooges.
