As I mentioned in another post, go watch the show & and try to pay attention.

Surely, you mean her lovely cheating and lying husband... Clue: the assistant showed up drunk at his house, not because he didn't have an affair with her.

And sure, report the rape. Because hey, nobody is going to suggest she was asking for it, being drunk and provocatively dressed (sans panties, no less and with her lover's DNA inside her).
And surely, nobody's world would get turned upside down when the affair was revealed. None of the people she loved would mind - nobody would be hurt by any of this but the rapist, right? Nobody, neither her nor her married lover, would get divorced and her bipolar kid would handle it just fine... 

She made a bad choice and got trapped in an impossible situation.

Go on living in your fantasy world.

I just didn't like the character she played, she was arrogant and selfish. Felt no empathy or sympathy for her, even after that horrible attack. Well played by Emily Watson though.

Can't believe IMDB are stopping these message boards! Can we do nothing about it?

I think it was made pretty clear in the first episode that she and her lovely husband had been having problems in their relationship for some time. She's a bored 50 year old woman who suddenly finds something exciting happening in her life. And as a DNA expert she's not going to report a rape when it would expose her affair. She might not be likeable to you, but her actions are understandable.
