How slow is the burn? I was going to try and get the wife to watch this with me because she is interested in this type of show however, if the burn is too slow she wont make it through it.

The first episode was a bit disappointing but stay with it. The interesting stuff starts in ep 2. I was hooked.

Uuuh, I don't know... It feels like a show that goes "If you though Zodiac was too short and focussed you should watch this".

The main guy is a bit bland, but I like Agent Silver Fox a lot.

Also, Fincher really likes this yellow filter, that make everything look like puke. Which is apt for a show about sequence killers. It certainly is making me feel uneasy observing this world.

I'm still sticking with it though, it's an interesting enough show. But there better be something more with the girlfriend, beyond her head ending up in a box or something.

I'm still engaged, but I also like to complain lol.

They are setting up something with the creepy man in Kansas, so I'm interested to see what's going to happen there. I'm sure it's going to be something horrible (I'm up to Episode 3).

I hope the main guy being bland is purposeful, but I've seen the actor in other things and I wouldn't say he was much different in any of those, as far as I can remember.

I think you're right about the dramas on the streaming services. It's pretty much like making a movie I suppose (but longer), since you are not limited by what you can or can't do on television. Maybe they have more money as well, since they have subscriptions all over the world (now). And with Hollywood gone to shit, where else are artists going to turn to, to tell their stories?

I have a feeling season two will have a lot to do with BTK in Kansas which I don't know if I'm interested in that.

reply

I'm not familiar with him. They didn't do much with him this season, that's for sure, except set him up. So there might be a manhunt next season, but I don't want to speculate this early.

reply

Yes, really interested in the BTK case. I followed it for a few years before they caught him in 2005, and it was one of the odder unresolved serial killer cases I can recall.

So I finished it, and I liked it much more the further along it went. I guess I got used to the structure, so I could enjoy more the story as it was presented.

Also, I liked that the characters were shown to have negative traits, like real people, and weren't just "good guy, being good".

It took it's time, but it grew on me this show.
