8.5 on IMDB and in top 250 TV shows ever. What makes it special

And do you think it deserves it's spot there.

Is it a Skin's like show or does it stand out differently to that. It seems to have made a impact and I've seen a few mention that even adults loved the show.

Interested in watching it but would love to know from any fan's what makes it so special. Are all the seasons worth a watch.
