Amusing enough horror-spoof of 80's metal bands

A past-their-prime 80's metal band named Sonic Grave tries to make a comeback by performing at a rock festival in the Southwest desert, but is attacked by giant ants on the way.

This is an entertaining parody of has-been 80's hair bands mixed with low-budget creature feature. Cutie Sydney Sweeney is a highlight as Sam, a young woman traveling to the festival with her friend who hook up with the group on the way.

I have a guitarist friend who was in an 80's metal band and he looks a lot like the dark-haired guitarist in the film, albeit older. His band has been back together since the mid-2000s and has toured parts of Europe a few times (akin to Anvil in their 2008 movie).

Some other friends of mine had a band in the late 80s called Sonic Praise, which is why I found the name of the band in the movie amusing, Sonic Grave.

I watched it today on Tubi. It had some fun moments. I enjoyed Sydney Sweeney's performance. I would rate the film a 6/10.

That's what I gave it.
