Why don't they shotgun Sam at the river?

Vanessa says we should stand and fight, then shoot Sam from a distance. Actually hits him, but then Mohammad says let's run because Sam is afraid of the water. Then why not get back in The river, get closer, and shoot his ass. Also in the show we've seen both Vanessa and Mohammad handle several vampires on there own. so why can't the two of them work together to easily take out one?

I think the show is ok, and I'm forgiving it for a lot of things, but this one annoyed me.

What was more annoying to me was why they did not just kill him before instead of injuring and leaving him for the vampires to drink. Why take the chance of having a crazy serial killer turn into a crazy vampire serial killer looking for revenge? Stupid people.

reply

Yeah , this too lol

Presumably he would want them to come back across the river to shoot at him so he could retreat into the safety of the woods, have them follow and then kill them. What doesn't make sense there?

reply

Exactly, presumbly. If goes back into the woods then make the decision to leave.

uh, she did shoot him. Problem is, he's a vampire and shotguns are a close range weapon. She shot at him and it barely tickled him. No point in wasting ammo.
