90% of sickness benefits claims are fraudulent

I have every sympathy for the genuine claimant, but please do not blame the government for what has to be done. The current tragic situation has been caused entirely by the scrounging "bad back brigade" (who are mostly scousers) who for generations have claimed to be unfit for work and have blackmailed and threatened GPs into giving them sicknotes just so they could claim their £500 a week DLA. Something desperately needed to be done about this problem and thank god we finally have a government who are willing to do what is necessary.

So why on earth would an administrator know more about medical issues than a doctor or a nurse? IF there was blackmailing going on, the government needed to deal with that rather than push the responsibility onto other people who have no medical experience and targets to cut as many benefits as possible. They're just as likely to be blackmailed as anyone (I would say more likely than a doctor in fact).

This statistic really isn't true. There's a subtlety here - the DWP write-off 90% as fraudulent. These are likely all the claims that they reject rather than claimants that are discovered to be actively lying about their problems. One of the biggest problems with the system relates to mental health, if they can't see it it's likely they'll claim it's a lie.
