I'd never have considered Atkinson as a new Maigret...

...but I'm intrigued by the idea. I hope these are good adaptations, it's a property that's due for a refresh on TV, and ITV could use a quality detective series with a similar tone and feel as the dearly-departed Foyle's War.

Just finished watching the movie..
And I can't say anything else than Sir Rowan Atkinson is multi talented actor..
The first 10 minutes I still known him as Mr. Bean, but after 10 minutes I forget all of that bean's comical face and see him as his act as Maigret...
Splendid, from a live legend comedian transform to a thriller actor..

I never once doubted he could do it, I just think it's actually too understated a performance for its own good.
