Double Feature with The Florida Project

Both films are about people on the fringes of society who make poor decisions and wind up paying for their mistakes. That said, Chiron is definitely a more sympathetic character than Halley.

Both films were imaginatively shot on very low budgets, had engaging stories, and very strong performances. Naomie Harris was brilliant as Chiron's mother. Her range is amazing. First saw her in 28 Days Later and it was clear back then she was an exceptional actress.

Neither film was easy to watch but they both stick with you and make you think...which is what good art should do.

Food in Films: The "Chef's Special" at Kevin's diner had me jonesing for some good Cuban-style black beans and rice.
