Can Hollywood writers do any better than interracial?

Why I quit watching Good Behavior
Can Hollywood writers do any better than interracial?
Obviously not. Force feeding or spoon feeding diversity still leaves a bad taste.
Since the great black actor Oscar protest, every new show has more black actors. And more interracial relationships. How about just good writing and just good acting like Idris Elba, or Dennis Haysbert so I don’t get distracted by Jungle Fever. and Gay TV, every show spouting the coolness of being homosexual. I’m tired of it Hollywood and if you’re listening, a lot of us are.

reply

Agreed. It is so forced that it's ridiculous.

reply

Gay TV is my favorite channel! Did you know if you watch at least 4 hours a week, you catch the gays?

reply

You know what? I've had to read a lot of pseudo-intellectual garbage disguising bigotry but here it is plain as day. Thank you for your candor.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

reply

I'm never against interracial but I second your point on the Homosexual in your face from Hollywood point. Let's keep protesting.

reply

Ah, the oh-so-clever opinion of the racist homophobe. Such a valuable demographic.

reply

Here's a relevant question: Was the interracial relationship in the book? If so, the tv show should follow that.

The fact that the kid is black adds an interesting element to the custody dispute, where the Court official was influenced by how it would be good for the child to be raised with someone of the same "culture" (as she put it).

Her son's race was not mentioned in the novellas. It was mentioned that he lived with his father.

Many of the characters were changed from the stories to the show, and I think the show's characters are improvements over the ones in the book, deeper and more complex.

There is a Javier and a Christian in the book, but they are much different than the show. The hit man in the first story is not Javier.

The author was involved in the writing of the show, and based on his comments approves of the character changes.

Do you just wake up, looking to be offended in some way?

There isn't some cabal in "Hollywood", looking to project their personal views on you. Hollywood is a business, that only cares about one thing- making as much money as possible. That is the reason you get so many super hero movies. Or films with the same thirty bankable actors and actresses.

Letty is interesting. Part of being interesting are her addictions, her attraction to men who aren't like her, and that crazy mother of hers. The way to get viewers is to make your lead character interesting- see Tony Soprano, Walter White, etc.

By the way, who do you think consumes televison? Prime time tv has an inordinate amount of female and minority viewers. Most males between the ages of 19-50 are consuming video games, porn and fantasy football. If the first two were acceptable on televison, you would see more of that.

Get some perspective.

reply

Yes, there absolutely is. Primetime Propaganda, look it up.

It's really cute how you're taking it all the way and asking for more.

Perspective certainly helps.

reply

Yea, a book by a Breitbart guy is objective.

I can't imagine anyone from *Big Hollywood* be tin foil

Good grief folks. You see Booige Men around every corner

reply

I agree whole-heartedly with this comment. Overkill on the interracial and gay BS.
