Why are there no slide rules in this movie? It kind of bugged me when Katherine was solving trigonometric equations in front of Glenn and Pentagon bigwigs without using any reference books or slide rules. For me, this did not hold a mirror up to nature; it seemed totally unrealistic.

This is so true. The whole time I watched the movie I wondered this. You can't see an old NASA clip and not see a slide ruler. And I see comments saying if your not 60 or older you woudn't know what it is. I'm 39 and I know what they are. I still find it amazing today we sent men to the moon with slide rulers and minimal computer power.
