Just watched on Netflix. It didn't work for my wife and I.

The main character can't see certain people? For example, she can't see her mother and believes her mother is dead. How does she not notice things moving about in her house? Why doesn't the mother just flat out punch her in the face to make her presence known? People tell her that that her mother is present, that the future boyfriend is present... why don't they just take her hand and walk her right up to them and have her touch them?

Another character is suicidal, but we are never really told why.

The third character is some sort of oddball therapist who has a totally inappropriate relationship with the girl who is a patient. He introduces his suicidal patient to the girl -- who can't see him and doesn't believe he exists -- but it comes so late in the movie that the 'magical' relationship between them happens too quickly and seems rushed.

The movie seems to going for 'quirky' but it never really gels.

(Sidebar: The camera seems to spend a lot of time trying to peek up the girl's skirt. In many scenes she's wears a skirt and the frequent scenes where she sits are filmed straight on at an awkward knee height. There's also a scene with her on the therapist's sofa where he seems to be trying to take a peek. Weird...)
