Lifetime needs to stop with the VC Andrew movies

They did Flowers in the attic movies . Now I just see My Sweet Audrina tonight . These books are my favorite books , but the movies that lifetime are producing suck ....

I agree 100%. They are butchering these books.

When I saw the movies from the Dollanganger series and this one I came to realize what I already knew: the books were trashy....

I first read Flowers when I was about 10 and was hooked. As an adult I retained this fondness and was pleased to make new friends who had also grown up reading them.
The 1st Flowers adaptation was so dire that I've gone in to the new Lifetime adaptations with an extremely low bar and in fact I enjoy them precisely because they are so bad!
There is such melodrama in the books that I think the right time to adapt them and do them justice has passed - the soaring mini series' from the 80's would have been a great platform as although we've become desensitised to a great many things these days the 80's just didn't give a damn and would have included much that isn't covered in these adaptations if only to justify the running time of a mini series!
Re Audrina - I enjoyed it but again it was all wrong. No pace, no tension, not great visual casting and no Billie or Sylvia!
All the Lifetime adaptations miss the mark but the makers know there is a huge fan base who will watch regardless even if it's only to laugh and pick holes (I totally include myself and my VC friends in this group).

I didn't see the Audrina one, I might not since it was my favorite of hers. However I saw all the Flowers, and I just finished the Heaven series and boy did they butcher that. I keep watching because it's interesting seeing the characters come to life, but for us book readers we will never be satisfied. They took so much out of Heaven..like not even including the beloved teacher that adored Heaven. Keith and "our Jane" were basically an after thought in the films. Though the actress that played Fanny..I know people hated her but she played her how I pictured her acting lol
