Who is/are your LEAST favourite Muppets?

The other thread inspired me to post this. Feel free to not just give names, but to give your reasons as well.

For me it's Miss Piggy. Easily my least favourite. Almost everything about her character annoys me. I kind of liked her early on in The Muppet Show because she wasn't featured too much. So maybe she works in small doses, but as a lead she just gets annoying.

I never really liked Scooter - he's too much of a dork.

reply

Same here, never liked Miss Piggy. I don't like that she's really the main focus of the show.

Miss Piggy is the worst.

Always felt Animal is overrated. He is usually propped up there with Piggy and Kermit as a top 3 Muppet. I don't get the appeal there.

Pepe is awesome. Don't know how people could hate him.

...............ZING!

Pepe

I get what they're doing with him--a send up of people who are supposed be suave, but are vain, stupid sluts--but that doesn't make me like more. The annoying accent doesn't help.

reply

^ I didn't like him in Muppets Tonight (maybe I was too young to get him) or in the Muppets films I've seen since them, but he's one of the highlights in this series for me. Him and Rizzo are scene-stealers for me, I'd probably watch a spin-off show just following them!

Chip the IT guy.

This for me as well.

You're always playing Yellow Car.--Arthur

reply

Yep, Chip the IT guy hands down. He's just so creepy looking.

reply

Crazy Harry always irritated me. Probably due to my OCD and that he was always causing havoc.

reply

Miss Piggy. Kermit can do much better.

I think I like all the others.

I've never liked Pepe. Especially when he'd show up on the bonus features for old Muppet things he wasn't even in. He actually grew on me during this show... but towards the end of the season I started disliking him again. It just annoys me that Rizzo and Pepe have gotten so much screentime, when Gonzo has gotten basically nothing to do and he's an original Muppet who's even still played by his original puppeteer.

Pepe's schtick works fine in small doses h'okay.

I also dislike Sam the Eagle but only on this show. The writers seemed like they didn't have a good idea of what to do with his character and he just became kind of sad and creepy. They could've done SO MUCH with his character in this day and age (third time I've used that phrase today, what is wrong with me??), being all about standards and practices and America. They kind of turned him just into some guy who had a hopeless crush on Janice and nothing else.

And this has more to do with the other thread, but I was really not expecting Big Mean Carl to turn into my favorite character.

Walter. Muppets have always had distinct personalities, but he's so vanilla it's sickening.

Honorable mention to the ever boring Robin the Frog.

And even as a kid, I have never liked Big Bird. There, I said it. That dude has never ONCE made me laugh. Ever.

reply

Ms Piggy for the reasons others already stated. She's just too much villain. Too one sided. Not enough sympathy and understanding into her character at the end of episodes. She doesn't ever show her good caring side.

I love Pepe and Rizo! Loved Rizo ever since The Muppets A Christmas Carol! Fozy Bear has been my fav since I was a kid watching muppet babies! But I always resented that the show always had him telling the worst jokes and being a failure all the time! If you grew up back then, you may remember that practically every show had the stupid storyline of a character learning to play an instrument, and everyone telling that person that they were awful! Ending by making the person stop practicing, give up, then family saying "well just because your bad at this doesn't mean you won't find the thing your good at. ". JEEEZE LU-WEAZE! They've just starteddays or 2 weeks ago!
