After the flashbacks in Eleven's vision of him beating Billy's mom and how we saw how he treats Billy in season 2, it just sucks that douche bag didn't get any payback. I was so hoping possessed Billy would kill him or at the very least beat the shit out of him and turn him into a zombie for the mind flayer.

Yeah, it would've been satisfying to have him wake up with Billy standing over him, reminding him of what he did to his mother and telling the old man he's always wanted to watch him die - and now he's going to get his wish. He steps out of the way and the monster comes in. While dad is screaming bloody murder we see an evil little smirk on Billy's face. At least that's how I would have written it.

I didn't think about that, perhaps they might do something in season 4 where he starts to as you said take his hostilities out on Max and maybe even her mom. Then hopefully he gets what he deserves by the end of the season.
