Do we really want a Season 2, though?

Of course, Stranger Things is a great series...don't get me wrong. But, I'm afraid of the diminishing returns for some of the concepts in its first season.

Sure, we still have some questions unanswered, and in awesome 80s fashion, they set up a season 2 with the epilogue. But is anyone else worried that if a second season were to come around, and it were to be bad, that it would tarnish how we feel about it?

At a 9.2 rating? This is not ABC NBC or CBS, This is Netflix and right now they have some very intelligent people at the helm. By God the best 9 bucks a month I've ever spent on anything.

You should give crystal meth a college try.

From other fictional series based on the production and sale of methamphetamine, I suspect that such a habit would quickly exceed the $9 per month referenced in the above comment. Or did you just save the money by trading fellatio for crystal?

I really don't. i was hoping for it to be more of an anthology series. You just can't have these characters for that much longer. Plus it puts a cap on just how strange things can get!

I do.1984 was a great year.

reply

I don't. I see where you're coming from and I fault the writers for leaving loose ends. But I could be wrong. Maybe they could make an even better season 2, but I doubt it.

I hope if they do a second season it isn't like what happened to True Detective.

I thought it was wrapped up nicely, let your imagination run rampant =)

I was thinking of this too.. season 1 of True Detective was so good. I knew it would be hard to top it but I hoped that s2 could at least hold its own against s1 but it ended up being disappointing. 😞 Anyways, I really hope that doesn't happen to Stranger Things. Personally I think it will be okay. I don't know how 5 seasons will work though. I see this show going on for 3-4 seasons at most but who knows?

I want one but the thing is they have to start filming soon before the child actors hit those growth spurts

I'd like another season of this story, yes. But I also wouldn't mind if it was an anthology series. It'll have longer legs if they go anthology, because I don't think they could wring a third season out of the current storyline and if they continue it, I don't see how they transition into anthology after that without confusing a bunch of people.

I don't think a second season is going to be as amazing the second time around unless it's a different new story. Whatever Eleven is up to must be left to our imagination.

If they do a 2nd season, the Duffer brothers already have things in mind. And it'll feature the same characters.

Season 1 was just about resolving Will's disappearance.
