Although there are some spots that drag a little and need some editing
(Emilia's drawn out "woe is me" in episode 20),
if you ever enjoyed Dickens' books,
this is gonna' blow your mind!
I really enjoyed this series. It was a great idea to put a lot of Dickens' characters together and do prequels to Bleak House, Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist. There were some notable performances too. I would pick out Fagin, Frances Barbary, Inspector Bucket and Mrs Gamp as the best.

The writing and acting were great. I would single out Scrooge, Mr Bucket, Mrs Gamp, Mrs Cratchit, Mr Venus, actually the whole cast were super.

Completely agree!! Wonderful show.I watched it back to back and found it to be so addictive. I watched the whole thing in about a week. Standout performance? Bucket.Mrs Gamp excellent, the whole cast were terrific. Well done BBC.
