Dump Dina

Most annoying character ever created. No Emmy for her.

Dina! At least Dina is funny and authentic and flawed. Amy is what is ruining this show. More succinctly America Ferrara (sp?). She is supposed to be likeable as a main character, but is NOT pulling it off as an actress. She seems like a total diva, WHILE in character, and I actually dislike her, even though I think we are supposed to love her. Horrible second season!

reply

There are some aspects of America's character that are good, but she isn't a strong lead on this show like I thought she would be. Dina, however excessively overpowering, is quite funny in many of her scenes. Not a perfect character, but she is funny.

reply

They gave us that episode where she was playing chicken with Jonah. She was used pretty well in that. Likable, loosened up while still being in character. We need more of it.

reply

Amy is annoying, intolerant and unfunny. Carmen was just trying to sell salsa using an exaggerated "Mexican" accent, and Amy kept passive-aggressively whining that she found it offensive, instead of minding her own damn business and doing her damn job. Then she uses the same strategy when Carmen slips and breaks her foot (thanks to Amy) and Amy has to replace her at the salsa display.

She's the female Dwight Schrute. She can be over the top sometimes but she's more entertaining then the whole 'will they, won't they' act that's bound to play out through the entire life of this show.

reply

My thoughts exactly. She's a female Dwight Schrute. I don't know if people judge her more harshly because she's a woman, or if she's just a bit too abrasive. Maybe she needs a Jim Halpert to balance her out...

Besides that she is the most interesting character on the show. I wouldn't call her the most entertaining, though (not while Mateto's around).

I don't know why almost every show has to have some character with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It really takes away from otherwise great shows.

reply

If every character was nice, we'd be bored to tears.

My new favorite show, but then any series with America Ferrera ....I'm there.

All (make that "most of") the characters are pretty good actually.

At first, I found Glenn and Dina to be extremely annoying. But his character gradually won me over, and I've lately appreciated her contribution as well. So my vote is to keep Dina, just rein her in a little.

Now, they could get rid of the supremely annoying Mateo, and that would not create the slightest interruption whatsoever in this show's steady progress.

reply

I adore Mateo! ♥
He is so funny and insecure. It's beautiful.

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

Every character plays their role and are integral to the overall story. Dina would be a horrible person IRL but is hilarious as a tv character. JMO of course.

reply

I agree. Each character has a place on the show. Keep them all!

reply

Dina reminds me of Trudy in Reno 911.

"Dump Dina"
no...I love her!!!

reply

We're not supposed to like Dina--that's the whole point of her character!

reply

I love every character on this show and I hope they're all here to stay. They all bring something different to the table and it's always fun to see their one-on-one/group interactions.
