Maile Meloy: Which Stories?

Loved the film!

Now I would like to read the original stories by Maile Meloy. Does anyone know what the titles are & which collection(s) they are in?

Thanks!
Jan

"Tome" (Laura Wells) and "Native Sandstone" (Gina Lewis) are in "Half In Love." "Travis, B" (Jamie & Beth) is in "Both Ways Is The Only Way I Want It." Be aware that character names (and in one case, gender) have been changed and Reichardt borrows details from other stories in the above collections and collapses them into her screenplay. It's surprisingly faithful in tone and most of the dialogue, and there is a certain reciprocity between the movie and stories.

On a side note, Maile Meloy is the older sister of The Decemberists founder, Colin Meloy.

From all the comments on the threads, and after seeing the film myself,,I need to read the book. I think the stories in the book will be much better. I dont believe her stories translated on film very well, except for perhaps the last storyline.

I am back and reading my comment above this one after 6 years. I rewatched the film tonight and my pov is still exactly the same. The last storyline was the only decent one, and I couldnt recall much of the film viewing it a 2nd time tonight. Sadly I have not read any of the collections even though I kept the screenshot of the titles that were posted on this thread all this time. Life goes real fast and poof its 6 years later.
