Is there anyone who is going to stop using IMDB after the 20th???

Just a damn shame really - Keeping the Mboards around gives this site personality. Not only personality but a deeper layer of information available to movie lovers. Yes there is a lot of banter, but I've laughed out loud frequently to inane (and unforgettable) lines of discussion. This site remains valid and useful, but not only is this not an upgrade - IMDB will soon lose a piece of its soul

I doubt if I'll be back. I like to read comments about a movie/TV show.

Naturally, yes, since it was a part of why i came here.

As of right now I use IMDB for hours every day. After the 20th I will probably only use it for a few minutes from time to time.


I come here to find info and talk about shows and movies. If I can't talk about movies and shows here I will find another message board.

I doubt that I will stop using IMDb. But I know for certain that I will be using it far less frequently. For all of the information provided outside of the forum, there are often many small points about shows and movies that are not addressed, but which one can ask about on the forum - and receive decent answers.

Utter stupidity on the part of IMDB to discontinue the forum. But what to expect from large corporations nowadays? I suppose someone's algorithm told them they could cut costs by eliminating their forum. I bet nothing about customer satisfaction was factored into the algorithm though.

I didn't know they were shutting the boards down. Where can I see information about it?
Anyway I use the boards sparingly when I have questions about plot points I didn't understand, for example.

Nope. I say good riddance. It is a shame that good discussions are always overwhelmed by attention-starved knuckleheads. Other than IMDB investing in heavy-handed moderation, there is not much choice but to shut it down. These boards are a disgrace.

As a reviewer, these boards could provide interesting insight and discussion, but the discussions always end up with the baboons throwing poo.

I will still use it, but only for checking out a new film or something. The forums are the main reason I come here, so when they are gone, I won't be here very often.
