I can't help, but think that the second season would've been so much better than the first season. Too bad we will never find out.
One of the things I hated was the filler procedural elements in this show. Which might happen again if the second season was green lighted, but from what happened in the finale, there is a good chance that the second season might have had a more entertaining premise.
Oh well...
Yes, scope for improvement and I agree it looked to be a show that would get better.
I think it took up the story nicely where the movie left off and despite some minor annoyances (that you get in almost all shows) it always left me pleased that I'd taken the time to watch it. I may be biased - I'm a huge fan of Dickian dystopia and would probably support any further exploration of the genre.
I'm very disappointed that this show is cancelled, even more so when I see that the Scream Queens tripe was picked up...
Despite all the negative user reviews, I actually liked the show, especially since it tremendously picked up pace in the final episodes of the season. Possibly that's because of the last 3 episodes of it being cancelled, but imo that did the show a great benefit.
I'd very much appreciate to see more of it, but of course I understand that chances for that to happen are practically zero. Fox is not exactly famous for prolonging sci-fi series over a first season, isn't it?
Still I won't give up hope quickly, maybe if the writers come up with some good ideas for a second season.
I liked the scenes in the movie, when John Anderton evades the system, as I found it particularly intriguing to see him escaping the omnipresent surveillance, therby questioning the system as a whole and the chances of its misuse. Certainly that was a very substential part of the movie.
So I can imagine that in a second season, the precogs might turn into a sort of future precognitive Dr. Kimble. The end of season one already points clearly into that direction ("RUN!"). I'd really love to see that.
However, I might be only dreaming...
I just saw the 9th episode and it has become quite suspenseful at that point. Really a pity that they canceled it just as it started to gather a head of steam.
