So close

I really dug the concept behind this movie. I thought the twist on found footage was unique. And they said it was based on a true story and I have heard of stuff like this actually happening, which is SUPER creepy. But aside from thinking, "Ooh, that's messed up" a few times, there was no horror until the last 5 minutes. Nothing really happened until the very end and the rest of the movie was just some guy being a total weirdo. I feel like it had so much potential. Probably not even as a horror film, but more as a psychological thriller. I wanted to know who the killer was and why he acted the way he did, and in the end they leave you with nothing. No answers, no explanation, just on to the next victims.

If you really want to be scared, skip this and search the internet for the actual footage of the guy who was secretly living in someone's attic. They set up a hidden video and caught him coming out at night to eat their food. That's horrifying because it's real.

Yep, that's my main gripe. Nothing is explained, I think we can only assume that the guy was bonkers and that he talked with Max. It's also too bad that we don't know if he attacked the kids, just that he will targer another family. Nothing else.

And how did the police didn't find him in the beginning? Weird.

Really disappointed by this. The acting was the only thing they got right.

You have a rigid definition of horror then. For there was horror throughout the movie. The horror was the situation itself. They were being watched by a psycho who was living in their walls. That's unsettling enough for me.
