I think the star killed the show

I loved the premise...thought it was a great idea from the movie, but the guy they got to play it came across BADLY. He was unlikable, and what is it with EVERY FREAKING TV SHOW LEAD NOT SHAVING?????? They look dirty most of the time.

He looked worse than most. The persona he had just made me hope he got killed and they got someone you liked and wanted to succeed. I wasn't a fan of the head of the dept either. She just came across as unlikable as well.

The rest of the cast WAS GREAT. I loved the two agents assigned to him. but the lead?? He killed the show completely.

I hope NETFLIX takes it on with a NEW lead. Kill off the jerk and keep everyone else.

Come on, use some sense like you realize that this is a TV show and not real life. This is an actor who has a job and a part to play. All your comments about firing someone from his job have nothing to do with the actor. "NOT SHAVING" (Oh no!)- writer choice. Coming across badly, persona bad and unlikable, well that is a directing choice. Kill off the jerk and keep everyone else? You said there was 2 you didn't like???? Anyway, Why would you act as though you didn't understand reality? Your biggest issue apparently, in bold caps, was not shaving---so fire him??? Why not say, " Hey directors producers and writers, why not rewrite the part and have him clean shaven and smile more so I can like him better? Yeah, I agree, they'd laugh at you and look with pity in their eyes, then a second later turn walk away and forget about you forever, except maybe in a passing joke, once. REALLY PEOPLE??? Wasting your time, ours, and our precious oxygen... geez... can we get a clean up on isle Dumbass. BTW, Great acting job for the lead role!

LMAO! This post is gold.

You think that's air you're breathing now?

I was *so* impressed with his acting that I looked to see what else he had done that I could check out.

I think he pulled off the difference between Brian on NZT and Brian off NZT very well. He owned the geekiness of the character w/o ever rolling his eyes or winking at the audience. And I think he (via the writers) pulled off the various joys, insecurities and growths of the characters.

I sometimes find I react to certain body types, dress-style types, or character types - both positively and negatively. It sounds like the way they portrayed Brian wasn't to your taste (I can say I never got an 'unlikeable' or 'dirty beard' vibe off him ever so, to each his own and all).

His acting was terrible. Okay. My Opinion.

Don't like it....BIOYA.

And yes that freaking bit about all actors in TV shows today have a permanent 4 day growth is grotesque. YES he killed the show.(sorry caps offend you I keep forgetting they have ITALICS) Please accept my humble apologies.

BUT you few may have adored him (or are paid to say so, this site is rife with paid trolls) but no one I spoke to found his character to be likable or this nonsense of having this ugly aszed 5 day growth attractive as it seem to simply be everyone in Hollywood seeing a couple of successful shows with leading men looking like they haven't shaved in a week or washed or even washed their hair.

And yes it is something I find off putting.

The original NCIS with its cast has higher ratings everyone there knows what a razor is for.

As for the other person on Limitless, while I was not a fan of her character, she didn't bother me. As I said the rest of the cast was terrific.

But the star? Obviously I am not alone in thinking that as is appears he has the death curse for all the shows he is on and why he is continually cast is beyond sane rationale.

I do stand by my belief his character killed the show. Extremely unlikable and why have a show that loses ratings because most people didn't like his character. Find a show where his unlikabableness would make for a better villian.

As well I really hope NETFLIZ picks it and gets a new lead.

such a classy response.

and... I wish I was paid for liking things. Oh well... à chacun son goût

Nah I love the unshaven look.

And I think the main character made the show so much better. He was brilliant.

reply

I wholeheartedly agree. His character is very unlikable. The level of overbearing arrogance plus the bed hair and homeless beard look coupled with what I am assuming is supposed to be an endearing adolescent cuteness (NOT) is enough to make me want to puke! His "character" needs to grow the *beep* up. I haven't seen him in anything else, but if this is his style, it ain't working, not for me anyway. Maybe millennials who are still living at mom & dads home draining the life from their parents like this, who else would?

My god, you wrote an entire paragraph that was one run-on sentence.

The show killed itself.

Unlike the movie. Episode 5 is a prime example. Besides the pilot episode, It became another pc detective show. The "consultant" is a comedic imbecile (even with the powers that come with the "pill"). Average detectives outsmart him, make him a joke. Low level criminal defeats him with 1 punch, though actor supposedly thinks faster. The actor has to constantly reassure.

Came to this site to see when Limitless Season 2 was starting. Truly disappointed. I think the actors were spot on. Blacklist and Limitless were my favorites last year. More reading less TV this year! Will miss u Brian Finch, u gave us a good chuckle once a week.
