Finale Sucked (SPOILERS)

Just when I thought the writing couldn't get any crappier, the ending was spew worthy.

They went with Miracle Boy Thomas, and they threw in a Miracle Preacher who just happens to have the same antibodies as Miracle Boy!

The old couple commits double suicide! WTF? All he had to do was wheel her to the hospital, there were still staff there that could have helped her. Even Cannerts would have fixed her leg.

Lex sacrifices himself for loooovvvve. Chooses to stay with Jana inside the cordon when we don't know if anyone is a carrier or infected, and Cannerts has not made a cure or vaccine yet.

Jake's final scene was crap, too. Just all of the montage scenes were sappy happy crap.

I wish they had just done an apocalyptic ending. I feel like I wasted 13 hours watching this thing. What a waste.

uuhhh, that finale SUCKED ASS!! I think this is the worst finale ive seen in years! everything was rushed and half of the stuff made no sense! Very lazy ending. If they knew it was gonna be a one season show then why didnt they prepare for a better finale??

sounds like bull sh!t to me. They were probably hoping that the series would get renewed, because that ending does not look like something that was well planned. yuck. Atleast my torture is over.

I don't get how people are saying the old couple died. She had a problem with her leg. That doesn't mean that they both died. They were drinking wine. I don't know how lex was able to do both.

reply

Did you miss the scene where the old guy was smashing pills and putting the powder in the wine? Why do you possibly think he did that? Hint: it wasn't to add flavor to the wine.

reply

Really disappointed. Rushed and uninspired ending. I feel like I wasted my time on this one. lol

reply

Maybe the old couple was just smashing up ecstasy and they're having one hell of a trip.

reply

Call me crazy, I enjoyed it.

I'm okay with it too. I was really getting into it and didn't even look at the time but then it was obvious that the ending was hurried up due to the show not getting a 2nd season. They didn't exactly wrap everything up with a pretty pink bow but I can use my imagination to fill in the blanks. I cried my eyes out at Burt and his wife, especially when she realized that he had put pills in HIS wine too. But as sad as that was, it was sweet to see them leave together because he would have been lost without his true love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this show and will miss it.

Me too. That moment when Micheline realizes that Bert was dying with her had me bawling like a baby. For me, it packed more of an emotional punch than Katie's death because it didn't happen in the original, so I didn't see it coming.

"You two ought to be ashamed of yourselves . . . two grown men acting like . . . grown men!!!"

reply

Bert and Micheline had been together for years but Jake had only known Katie for a couple weeks. I know Jake had feelings for Katie but there was a lot more history with Bert and his Michy.

reply

It is an above average finale. Most subplots got resolved. Don't know why some people are complaining.

I enjoy it, too, even just mildly.

"Jake's final scene was crap"

What bothers me the most was what the hell makes him think hes has the right to throw her ashes... If anything that should've been her sons choice or left for her family members... (if she had any) FFS he only knew her for 2 weeks.

I was about to write a post about how disappointed I was in the finale too. I enjoyed the series and would have loved to have seen it get picked up. Personally I don't understand why it wasn't and I'm guessing the writers assumed it would be because you all are right in that the finale seemed rushed.

I wanted to see Jake and Quentin reunite and see how that panned out after the virus was eradicated if it ever was. In the meantime, they would have been each other's family. :( I agree it wasn't his place to throw the ashes and it immediately bothered me to realize that was what he was about to do. All I kept thinking of was her son. As for them loving each other, they could have known. They were together endlessly through so much life and death. They experienced so much in their time together, so many conversations, etc.

The once gang seemed like they had a change of heart. Was there going to be a vaccine? So much had just begun to change. I would have really liked to have seen the new direction everything was about to go in. And yes, where DID Meese go??
