Finally! A Good Justice League Movie Again!

After four recent animated disasters, save Batman: Assault on Arkham, leave it to Alan Burnett and Timm to put DCAU back on track!

I cannot overstate how good JL: God and Monsters is!

It has beautifully choreographed action scenes, some of them so violent they made me wince and shout god damn a few times. Brutal freaking stuff. And a story that was coherent and perfectly paced that thankfully avoided rehashing the standard origin stories of its three leads.

I'm still reeling how Gods and Monsters managed to have likable protagonists who are dark, but not gritty and angst-ridden. I'm equally surprised Gods and Monsters let its characters crack a few smiles and even tell jokes. I didn't think DC characters were allowed to do that anymore.

All in all, I say Gods is right up there with the best DCAU movies!

I also say Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett are the man!

I liked this movie a lot, I'd disagree about the others being bad. Throne of Atlantis was an okay Aquaman movie, but a bad JL one. JL War had good action, but made everyone (besides Flash and Batman) seem like a-holes. I enjoyed this because it was different. I'd rather watch the JL/JLU show over the other JL animated movies, so that is a flaw, but I wouldn't call them disasters.

I never saved anything for the swim back.

There was a lot i liked about it, but there were a few cheats that i think hurt the storytelling. They killed the aytch outta them fools in the beginning not just out of necessity, they actually enjoyed taking them apart as if it were sport. Tough to go from that to "heroes". I also didn't care for Superman's & WW's sparring partners both getting offed by heat. The main baddie's end also didn't feel like a natural extension of the maturation of his thoughts & actions. Plus, the changed person that WW fought needed more dramatic elements considering the length of the ruse. Other than that, i thoroughly enjoyed it & was glad to see the return of Timm's classic style.

Loved this movie.

Wasn't a fan of War or Batman & Son.

Liked Throne of Atlantis and Batman vs. Robin.

Really liked Assault on Arkham.

But this takes the cake as far as the animated movies of recent times go. Definitely my favourite since The Dark Knight Returns. The violence, while gratuitous and quite shocking, gave the world these 'heroes' inhabit a completely different feel to those we have seen before. I enjoyed the different takes on the central trio. I enjoyed the twisting of certain characters' moralities (won't say who, just for spoilers' sake).

9/10.

PS. Yes, I am for some reason looking forward to Batman: Bad Blood.

Hated War, didn't like batman and son or atlantis that much. Hated the characterization of WW.

This was much better.
