She is still Carrie Bradshaw

I read Sarah Jessica's an interview and she says ''Divorce is very very different. This is not Carrie Bradshaw. This character never thinks about her shoes''. Nope Sarah. You're still Carrie Bradshaw. I see Carrie every time. Her facial expressions, her walking, her laughing, her anger, her laughing. Looks like Carrie divorced Big and married again :)

reply

That's you're prerogative. Those little nuisances are same for any actor - her talent lies in breaking through that and making an entirely unique character.

If you're solely looking for Carrie Bradshaw, you will find Carrie Bradshaw. If you take this for what it is, - completely different series, you'll find something different and if it's own.

reply

I just think its more she's Sarah Jessica Parker. If you see her in anything post SATC, people always say she's acting like Carrie, but I think its just her bringing herself SJP into all her roles.

reply

She's a one note actor. She's always the same.

reply

i agree. Her range is limited to one character in all her work. The supporting cast is great. I enjoy their work a lot~

reply

Well, like Bette Davis was always Bette Davis, and Meryl Streep, despite her many accents, etc, is always Meryl Streep. There are certain mannerisms and gestures and just a face and body that are always going to be the same. Older, as time goes on--and boy, is it going on for SJP--but the same.

reply

Really? Meryl Streep in Ironweed was just typical Meryl Steep. Are you going to next tell us that Billy Bob Thorton is the same in every movie?

Of course! Or am I the only one who can picture Sling Blde laying heavy pipe on Angelina Jolie?

reply

Maybe. It is hard to picture.

reply

Thanks. Now I have Carl's "O" face etched in my mind. Ay Up! ;-)

"Stick with me, baby, and you'll be fartin' thru silk."

reply

The show should have been named "What if Carrie married Aidan ?".

reply

Aidan was NOTHING like Robert--- seriously?

reply

The biggest problems is not SJP's acting range but she is being easily out acted by Thomas Haden Church.

It's that man again!!

reply

She replaced the shoes with an art gallery, Julian for Mr Big, Robert for Aiden, and wanting to be forgiven for not being able to stay out of Big's bed for wanting to be forgiven for banging Julian over 30 times!
And she simply replaced the scene of Carrie getting angry with Aiden for innocently talking to another woman for Frances getting angry with Robert, for his innocent"emotional affair"!
The more I sit here, the more similarities I come up with.
Hell....even Frances being disappointed over Julian not thinking the affair is more serious than just sex, is exactly the same as Carrie's disappointment over Big feeling exactly the same about their relationship back on SATC!

reply

It's hard to believe that anyone in their right mind would want to spend the rest of their life with Frances the shallow ditz, played by Carrie Brad -- oops! -- played by the vapid Sarah Jessica Parker.

reply

My thoughts exactly, but this is not just 2001 any longer, it's not funny anymore, I feel that, the cast is great but her, her character is really silly and I fail to understand where is this show going, well, of course, they will get a divorce but after the husband found out that he has the biggest horns in town no matter how boring he seems at first, she wasn't honest and tried something wit the French hipster that backfired, off with Carrie Br---SJC's head.

reply

Disagree. I don't think she's acting like Carrie Bradshaw at all
