A great film

I’ll keep this relatively short. To begin I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The directing, acting, characters, costumes, set pieces, battle sequences, the duel itself, dialogue, were all wonderfully crafted and realized, Ridley at his best.
For those who would label this a “me too film” or anything pushing a biased feminist agenda I would simply say that one should know what they’re getting themselves into before watching a film. This film is about one woman’s account of being raped in the 14th century and the circumstances surrounding said rape.
And there is nothing “me too” about being a woman in the 14th century.
It doesn’t pretend to be Gladiator or Kingdom of Heaven as some other nitwit on this forum is bitching and moaning about, it is exactly as it presents itself.
The duel itself was one of the most riveting portrayals of hand to hand combat I have ever seen accomplished on film.
The film is a hard watch, for the obvious reason, more difficult than I anticipated. I knew what the film was about before I sat down to watch it but even still, it carries a substantial weight, and only upon watching it objectively, will you understand my meaning.

Well said and agreed. Phenomenal film and an incredibly satisfying duel, however it were to end.

I was dumbfounded when I came to this board after watching seeing all these topics blasting it for being "too feminist" and and pro-MeToo. I didn't get that vibe at allllll. Not even close.

For me it was a period piece during medieval times. Women were portrayed in the film how they were known to be treated then. Not heavy handed, nor political, no agenda; just a story told by three different people. No need to read any more into it.
