shareI agree she came off phoney. If you've watched Kurt and Courtney, a former principal apparently took Kurt in for a while, almost a year or so. The director asks if she tried to contact him and he said there was no attempted contact for a year or something. If there is any truth to the story,they painted her in a overly flattering light because I don't know any mother who could go a full year without knowing the whereabouts of their child.
I mean why else has she become BFFS and defended Courtney so much over the years. She needed to keep the peace to get her cut$$

Seems like Kurt's mom has been hanging around Courtney for too long and has picked up a few abd habits, or has been coached on what to say. It makes me sick to see his family going along with the idea that he committed suicide, same thing with Novoselic and Grohl. You can see it in Novoselic's face that he doesn't believe it.
Speaking of The Shining, Courtney is very similar to the woman in room 237. She presents herself as benign and appealing(if still ugly), only to reveal the evil old witch once she's dug her claws in.

shareI think she was probably trying to deal with her guilt by presenting a different kind of scenario - one where Cobain was destroyed by his fame rather than as a result of bad parents who were too selfish and probably didn't give a damn at the time when he was growing up.
