Innovative solution to too many split screens

Since the lead character is a 'fixer' and is often on his cell phone wandering in the city, the viewer might have been held hostage to a good 30 minutes of split-screens to show the physical reactions to both characters in the conversation. To prevent tedium of this,several shots seamlessly blend both locations with the main characters in it and pried them apart when the conversation ended.
