As an ecuadorian i hated every minute of that sh***

I found it not only humiliating and insulting but absolutely inaccurate

The movie just wants to show us how ignorant the common american is. You believe a guy with a microphone everything he says in the camera without ever doubting his credibility. They just wanted to tell that in a way they don't get hate from the viewers and i would say they succeded.

"The end is not the end, but for the beginning an end is always near."

Oh no. Ecuador needs to grow up then if it can't take some fun being made of it. The powerful nations like America and England are happy to be made fun of. Stop being so sensitive.

I see this went relatively untouched. Although there is a post that was deleted by the poster. I'll assume the person you were responding to knew they were outmatched and limped off into the forest to lick his wounds and try to forget this ever happened.

Great list, btw! 

They're the Hollywood movies we like to watch. That's what America is for. Why do you think the Walking Dead is so popular?

Even when we watch the movies about prosperity (like Sex and the City, or Entourage) we're still watching in a state of shock and horror.

"I'm entitled. Simple. End of.."

You do realize that one Ecuadorian does not equate to the whole country, right? I agree that it's funny bc it showcases the Ameriacn public's gullibility and the ease to which it believes whatever it's told but, it's also true that there are idiots who will watch this and believe that Ecuador is exactly as is being portrayed. That does suck. It's a beautiful country too!

I mean, in this thread alone there are stupid people that are spelling it with a Q lol. Like, Equador- even tho it's spelled Ecuador, right there in description. Oy.

reply

Gimme a break.
You can't be for real. Are you just a troll?
I really hope you're not Equadorian because I'd like to think that they have more sense than this.

Do I really have to explain to you that this movie was farce? And of course it was inaccurate and ridiculous. The point is that the two guys in the film, they are the dumb ones. They are the fools. So when we hear them making up stuff about Equador we don't take it seriously because the ones saying it are the dopey characters.
It's like on the hit tv series All in the Family. The character of Archie Bunker would say the most horrible racist things. But we knew Archie was a dope and was misinformed. So it's okay. We don't believe it because we consider the source.
But no, I don't have to explain this to you because you're Equadorian and you're a smart person who understands this, right?
If not I'd just like to say that you DO NOT represent all of the people of Equador. Most are very smart people. They really are.

*Ecuador. With a C.

Also, I get what you're trying to say but, you sound pretty condescending. I just can't tell if you did that on purpose or...what?

"Defending" the intelligence or humor of a country, you should spell it correctly.

You didn't need the ellipsis.

Also, I agree with what you're trying to say.

reply

Although its purpose is to signify information being omitted, I'm pretty sure you understood that I was using it to imply a pronounced pause.

So, did I need the ellipses? No. Did it help to convey my dramatic pause? It sure did.😊

reply

I am an Indian and if I start taking offence to every inaccurate depiction of my country and culture, I'd be in a mental institution.

That being said, I'm sure this is extremely inaccurate, perverse and absolutely insulting. But that begs the question - "So what?"

reply

Well go out and make the great Ecuadorian comedy then, genius.

reply

You should be insulted - the whole thing was filmed Toronto and not having a Tim Horton's in Quito is kind of humiliating.
