I hate Michael Bay movies but...

Actually ended up liking this one. I thought it got a little heavy handed towards the end of the movie but I enjoyed it as a whole.
I have drunkenly got into shouting arguments with my buddies who watch a lot of films about how Michael Bay is utter crap. I won't go into it but it's the same reasons as all of the "haters" post on Bay's imdb page. I think he does better with mid-level action than with blockbusters. I remember being angry when I walked out Transformers; I'll never watch it again nor will I watch the sequels. Armageddon, terrible Pearl Harbor would have been okay if it wasn't for the terrible love story.
Any who thanks for making a movie I that didn't make me insane with anger.

I LIKE Michael Bay movies. I am not so sure I would like him. Maybe. Maybe I would really like him. He is not liked by many actors, but that is certainly not much reason for ME to pre judge him.

You could even call me a fan of his work. This movie was his very best so far. A real masterpiece.

This falls somewhere in my Top 10 military movies and maybe in my top movies period.

Bay has lost some cred with the Transformers sequels. The first one was fun... and they have been on the downslide since. He makes great movies in terms of action. There's not taking that away from him.

I think he definitely did this story justice.

I held off seeing this movie for a while. I thought it was too soon and not all the facts were in for them to make an honest movie. What I didn't realize is that he brought in several of the guys that were there.

The path that brought me to this was seeing Kris "Tanto" Paronto in Maxim Defense ads. After realizing who he was and what he did I watched a video of him giving a public account of the story and throughout his telling of the real story he talks about the movie in high praise. At that point I had to see Bay's film.

I watched it last night and it was fantastic. I look forward to Bay doing more movies like that that tell things how they were, not how they media and politicians tell the story.

Bay has made a lot of shitty movies but this one is great. I think it's his second best movie right behind Pain & Gain. 13 hours and Pain & Gain are both really underrated imo. I wish Bay would make more quality stuff like this one.
