Feels like a sinking ship.

You can almost feel the show slowly dying each week.

Aside from the obvious budget cuts which are sadly very noticeable on screen (season 1 looks like a much more expensive show, which it was), there's a general feeling of malaise plaguing the whole production as if the cast themselves know they're not getting another season and are basically fulfilling their contracts.

Even the writers seem to have given up, as they've settled into a comfortable formula of resorting to the old bag of tricks rather than attempting something new. How many different ways can we insult Chanel #5 before the audience says enough? Even bringing Denise back feels tired.

It's hard to watch a show that feels like it's on its death bed. But I suppose those of us on this board will remain on board until it finally sinks. I just wish it wasn't so obvious.

Last season's ending really hurt my interest in the show. I enjoy the comedy, I like the cast, I like the show over-all, but there's no point in investing in the "who done it" story line so I'll catch the show when I happen to catch it. It's not appointment television for me now.

I completely agree. There are sooooooooo many dark, procedural crime/cop/horror/hospital shows on air. Scream Queens s1 was so fresh and original and genuinely unique. It was whip-smart funny and constantly surprising. It would get my own creative juices flowing.

This seems more like a classic parody show with broad humor, instead of intelligent wit. Also the "case of the week" is really tired and formulaic and takes away from the actual plot of the show. When I finish an ep, I dont feel that sense of creative inspiration like I used to.

Normally TV shows grow tired around the 4th season, I wasnt expecting such a nose dive in creativity so early on: in the writing, the humour, the plot, the clothing, the sets, it is all sub par.

Budget has nothing to do with it, sometimes low budgets actually force you to be more creative because you have to problem solve.
