Not a good film. Avoid.

I pretty much only watched this due to Yvonne Strahovski being in it and that I have a soft spot for B movie horror. I kept waiting for it to reveal a twist or do something interesting but it was really just nonsense. No issues with performances, just a bad script.

It doesn't add anything to the genre and is pretty much just a cheap knock off of a Friday the 13th. It couldn't decide if it was going to cross over into the supernatural (maybe they thought it did). What with those creepy child's laughs you hear a few times. The bad guy seemingly running around inside/on the house causing the the floorboards to shake. He seemed to have no issues getting in and out of the house when the plot required it. The the egging scene. WTF?

He seemed to know exactly when the family was arriving to setup the the tea party in the woods. He implied he's lived around the area for years. Just living out in the woods? Did he do an online course in cupcake making? Perhaps he took his mask off to go and buy some from a nearby shop.

Why didn't the family have any sort of firearm in a massively isolated house like that. Not even a pump shotgun? I don't know where it was set but it looked like bear country.

And of course the cliche ending. Yeah. Like someone is going to stump up the cash for a sequel.

So yeah. Don't bother.
