Cheesy/disappointing
Did anyone else find this cheesy and disappointing?
shareAgreed.
But I find that because this movie is so slick and stylised (and because of Chang Chen), I'm able to suspend my disbelief and critical judgement to just enjoy this as a no brainer pop corn flick. It's also much more watchable than the majority of mainland produced films.
Liu Shi Shi's role was however mostly pointless and disappointing as she did nothing other than serve as a pretty vase to look at and act as a damsel while Chang Chen saves her *eye rolls*
Exactly, I can't in good conscience compare HK movies and mainland ones. That's why I gave this a 7.
shareI didn't mind the melodrama, but the shaky cam and the way the action scenes were shot was terrible. inspired by bad modern Hollywood action movies, it seemns.

Hmmmm, I liked it. A pretty nice surprise, although I found the ending a bit abrupt. A solid 8.5/10
shareIt is weird how abrupt the ending was, and how we didn't even get a proper fight between Jianxing and Wei Ting, they just cut all of that out.
I would have preferred a little bit more time dedicated to the other two instead of the extended fight with Shen against the guards and against Zhao, especially since the two of them fought again at the end.
