A Poignant Film that Keeps One Thinking for Days!

I was delighted and surprised by this joyous film that is just in time for Christmas. My wife and I have been blessed with thirteen children and it is rare that we all will go to see a film together. However, this was an exception that proved to be far too important to pass up.

As a family, we were not disappointed in the slightest. Throughout the film we laughed, cried and had deep moments of self-searching and introspection. Because we were the only people in the theater, we were able to clap along and cheer during the passionately crafted dance scene.

What is more important is that the subtleties and nuance of the film keep one discovering narratives for days after viewing. For example, my daughter Grace excitedly noted how Christian's character is facing a spiritual crisis and that his challenges are reflective of those that many actual Christians face on a daily basis! This masterful move by Mr. Cameron truly adds a depth to the film that is not apparent upon first viewing.

Mr. Cameron also reminds us that many of the questions we ask ourselves can easily be answered. God, in all his glory, is responsible. I've found that many of my fears have eased now that I've been reminded that everything from the Christmas tree that I buy, to the food that I eat, are all part of his divine plan.

If there were any justice in this world, Mr. Cameron would receive multiple Academy Awards for this film.

reply

Mr Poe, is that you?

reply

Either that, or they're so white that they don't cast a shadow.

reply

Probably a Poe ("multiple Academy Awards"?), but this person isn't (http://christianmusicreview.org/film-review-kirk-camerons-saving-chris tmas/):

Although Saving Christmas is a short film set within a single Christmas party, the audience is entertained with a history and Bible lesson mixed with relatable, comedic conversations. I found one character’s rant over GMOs, chem trails, Enron, and war on Christmas hilarious. His rant is especially funny because the arguments he has are something we hear about in the news and everyday conversations. Darren Doane’s portrayal of Christian will have you laughing at his facial expressions and imitations. In Kirk’s intervention, you are surprised at the origins of Santa Claus, the Christmas tree, and more. Your decorations and traditions will no longer be seen as a distraction from the true meaning of Christmas. Instead, you will envision Jesus at the heart of all things Christmas.

So you are totally okay with a movie being so poorly shot that some of the scens are out of focus?

If I shot a video for client and it looks that shoddily made,I wouldn't get paid.

reply

My dear Comrade, your grasp of sarcasm is less tenuous than Sheldon Cooper's, unless you are, in fact, commenting on the Christian review posted above you. Peace :)

Oh man that slayed me! Thanks Hockey, I needed that! :)

reply

Hahaha, that was great. I cringe at how many people's heads that is going to go over.. it's pretty clear that it's sarcasm/trolling.

reply

People misuse "troll"... Trolling is with the intent to deceptively and wilfully incite conflict in order to get a rise out of people.

You kids keep using 'trolling'to describe anything you do not like posted on-line.

This is sarcasm, and not even remotely trolling.

I am the equal and opposite reaction!

reply

Trolling and hater are the most overused and lame expressions online. If you don't enjoy a movie and express that you didn't like it you are dismissed as a hater or troll by idiot fans who would like it no matter what because Justin Bieber or Selena Gomez was in it. It's a way for people who blindly love terrible crap like Adam Sandler or Tyler Perry movies to dismiss legitimate criticism that they don't want brought to their attention.

"Trolling is with the intent to deceptively and wilfully incite conflict in order to get a rise out of people."

Yea.. that's exactly what he was doing lol, or that's at least what the effect was, even if it wasn't intended (we can't know his intentions). People will then complain about all the kids and how messed up and weird their family is and say how *beep* the movie actually is and then people might defend them and create conflict. I think you're underestimating how oblivious people are.

So.. to be accurate.. it's potential trolling by using sarcasm (as I originally said, I said trolling/sarcasm, one or the other or both). It's silly to make assumptions about people you don't know, there's a clear difference between trolling and a difference in opinion.

One person's... it went over literally only one person's head before you replied.

People love to think that they're the only ones who get sarcasm. You're not.

reply

I said "I cringe at how many people's heads that is GOING to go over."
Not how many heads it already HAS gone over.
I'm certainly not the only one based on the comments, that would be ridiculous, and nothing I said even hinted that I thought no one else would see the sarcasm, only that many people wouldn't.
And I was absolutely correct, there's about 10 people after my comment, who didn't see the sarcasm. Some are grey areas, but still enough people to make me "cringe", as my original comment stated.

I completely lost it at the passionately crafted dance scene. When this comes out on Amazon, will you please write this review on there?

Anyone who claims to like this disaster of a film is an employee of the bigoted, demented a-hole that is Kirk Cameron.

I delete all private messages without reading them, so don't waste your time.

My wife and I have been blessed with thirteen children

But apparently weren't blessed with birth control.

The world's grossly overpopulated, Kirk (or Kirk's PR guy).
