WTF with Jake Gyllenhaal performance?

He did what the director asked of him... we all know he can act so a performance like that is what he was told to do... This kind of over the top comedy is very common in a lot of Asian films, but it did seem out of place... but I think of you asked the Korean audience they probably didn't even think about it...
