In Sickness and in Health (Season 3) (Spoilers)

The artist in this episode paints pictures that depict events that happen in the near future. At the end of the episode, he leaves Cassie a gift of a painting that shows Cassie, Sam, and some of the other characters looking sad or angry. Cassie and Sam wonder what it's all about, and look worried. The End. I've now seen everything through the end of Season 6 and this ominous picture has not been referred to again, yet it seemed kind of important.

Hey! I JUST watched this episode last night and I think the answer is in the episode(s) where Michael Tinsdale gets married. The artist's depiction of the future didn't seam to represent anything long term, just a moment that he sees before it happens. In the painting, they showcase two things: Cassie sitting with Sam, not holding hands and Nick and Grace with a girl Nick didn't recognize and she looked angry. We also know that even though he painted the characters in front of Grey House, it doesn't necessarily mean the even will happen there...as we saw with Nick hanging the light on the ladder.

So....an episode or two later, we see Cassie and Sam sitting on a couch talking about the fact that Sam does NOT want to get married again. Cassie feels it changes their relationship a bit. I think this might be the moment he see. the only problem though is the two were swapped in their seating position. (in the painting, Cassie was on the left/Sam on the right). So maybe I'm wrong, but that's the scene I thought of when thinking about the painting.

As for Nick and Grace, this happens at Michael's wedding reception when Grace is asking if Nick broke up with the girl (can't remember her name) and the girl walks in on the conversation. When I saw the painting and Nick said 'who's the girl' I thought it was her right away. I actually thought she would walk in on him or grace confession feelings to each other or something but then the story went along with the break up plot.

So...those are just my thoughts.

Well, you might be right. They certainly could have made it more clear, though.
