Some people say it like that. I think it depends on where they are from, accents, etc.

I say it like that also. I noticed when I moved to Arizona from Michigan that there were so many words that I pronounce differently from where I grew up.

My mom used to have a British accent, and then she moved down south and got that accent. People in Texas pronounce things differently. I have a BA in Spanish, and I studied Linguistics and other languages, and it's interesting how people pronounce words differently depending on where they live. Even in a state words are pronounced differently depending on what part you live in.

Like I say New Orleans (New Orleens), and not New ORlands. Or for carpet I grew up saying shag carpet with a long A, but here in Tucson, AZ, they say shag with a short a (like the a in bad).

In the Ozarks, the waitress pronounced baked potato as bIked potato. Then there's tomato (long A) or tomato (short a). Or aunt (like the a in can) or aunt (like font).

In Michigan we say pop, but out here they say soda.

I think learning about different languages, accents, and ways to say things is interesting!

According to one site more people (53%) pronounce it as misCHEEvious at that people have done so since the 1500s. If you google pronounce mischievous one of the pages has a British guy pronouncing it as mischievous or misCHEEvous or misCHEEvious.

There is not some fixed pronunciation of many words -- people pronounce things differently, especially depending on where they live. The "right" way to say things is somewhat arbitrary.
