Reasons why future DBZ films/ova's/anime won't work anymore...

This movie (haven't seen the previous one yet where Beerus is the main villain) has shown me many things, but I'll only list one or a few here.

This series should remain untouched. They can make videogames if they like, but the magic of DBZ ova's or movies is gone, especially if they try to make it in continuity with the main series.

While this movie wasn't all that bad (the plot being Freeza's back), it just doesn't have that Freeza feel. I don't know how to put it in words.

No sense of peril, no suspense, no despair feel. No, all gone. Even as Freeza powered up in his new gold form, Goku was enjoying the fight and Vegeta toyed with him. It's like they don't even have to try anymore. They're too powerful. Sure, Freeza was at some point more powerful than the Super Saiyan God SS, but you as the watcher don't feel the hopelessness you would have back in 1989, in my case, reruns 1997-2002. Watch the Freeza saga, the Cell games, Majin Buu saga. Those were the golden years. Even some of the movies managed to capture that magic (Broly first movie, Bojack movie, Janemba movie, Hildegarn movie). That magic where the hero is in despair as he has no way of beating his opponent. He really has to overcome his opponent, many times by way of unlocking a higher potential, or new transformations. DBZ ended well and they should leave it at that.

(Even DBGT had it's moments. Remember when Goku's Super Saiyan 3 transformation failed? or when Bebi-Vegeta defeated Goku and assembled the Saiyans powers?)

My point: The movie itself is not bad. Watch it and enjoy it. But, that Dragon Ball feel we dbz veterans are looking for, just don't look for it. It's gone and ended with the last episode of Dragon Ball Z: Doragon bôru zetto (1989)

You're absolutely right! Resurrection F lacked any real drama that made the original series such a spectacle.

I think there is not a movie better than anime: Saint Seiya, Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works, Street Fighter II, Yu Yu Hakusho, DBZ, etc...

Animes (12 or 24 episodes of 20 minutes) are always better than movie (just 1 ou 2 hours long).

Exceptions? Please tell me one...

As a kid, DB and DBZ were my favorite tv shows, so I'm still gonna watch everything they release. However, I do think there's not much more to tell about their stories.
As Toriyama said, from the start of DB to the Frieza Saga was what he'd planned to do. It had so much success that it couldn't end there, so now that he made them "conquer" the universe (being the most powerful, not actually conquering it), the next step was to "conquer" time. He did that aswell with the Andoid/Cell Sagas. Once he did that, the only thing above it were the gods, so that's what he went for in BoG (maybe he made the Buu Saga thinking about it aswell, can't remember). You can't keep stretching Goku's story. We've seen him since he was a kid, going through parenthood, and grandparenthood. Defeating armies, tyrants, and becoming (almost?) a god. Overpowering him (them) more would be (and is) absurd. And boring.

But I do have a couple of ideas of how it could keep going without boring us. I've been willing to watch this since DBZ ended, and I don't think I'm the only one. What I'm talking about is some sort of Dragon Ball Next Gen, with Oob, Pan, Maron, Bra, and maybe Trunks and Goten as main characters, going on adventures DB style, and leaving Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo and the rest as veterans.

The other idea would be to use the story Toriyama made up for... Xenoverse i believe? Which is that Gohan wrote a book about Ki and all that stuff called Groundbreaking Science, and now that the entire Earth knew about it, Earth's "level" increased, and a whole bunch of new warriors were born. Krillin founded the New Turtle School, Tien and Chiaotzu founded the New Crane School, and Goten and Trunks founded another one. Of course, I'd still love to see the protagonists of what I've called "DB Next Gen" as main characters.

I know that it's not gonna happen, but I've been willing to say this for a long time, as you can deduce from the long spech... So I apologize for that... :P

Also, I need to say, Gohan been my favorite character, watching Toriyama powering him down like this hurts my inner child :D

Sorry for my English, blah blah blah...

Battle of Gods was actually alright because there the opponent was actually much more stronger than Goku and a legitimate threat to the planet. There was some sense of peril in that one.

If I never meet you in this life, let me feel the lack

Completely agree.
