Lyndsy Fonseca and the filmmaker's choice.

Look at this picture from a "sex" scene early in the movie: http://i.imgur.com/okQsyiI.png

Lyndsy Fonseca has a bed sheet intricately wrapped around her waist. How much time would it take her to do that? It looks like the top has been folded over several times to ensure stability.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw that. Completely took me out of the movie. Did the filmmakers not want an escort to be nude in a movie that revolves around sex? Did Lyndsy Fonseca not want to do nude scenes of any kind? Why not get an actress willing to do nude scenes?

I loved the movie. I just think the way they avoided showing the human body in that scene was a really bad choice. Could've been shot so many other ways that didn't include wrapping a bed sheet around her body in such a complicated way that not even an Eagle Scout could undo it.

Yes, unrealistic scenes like this are the result of performers who aren't professional or committed to portraying their character honestly (just like Jessica Alba lobbying to play a stripper in Sin City and then refusing to strip). Seems like most young actresses want to dabble with 'edgy' material--but once they're cast they are unwilling to give an edgy performance. If an actress (or actor) doesn't want to get naked for a role, they don't have to. They can make movies for children and leave the mature acting roles to professionals who are willing to be true to the character they're playing. Because as you said, an unrealistic scene like that shatters the illusion and reminds me I'm watching a movie with prudish actors.

Not only that. The character didn't have the kind of hard "edge" that a professional whore would have. The portrayal was entirely too "girl-next-door" to buy.
