Obviously you've never seen Angela Bassett in ANYTHING! ! She's a great actress!! Director, idk because the last few lifetime bio movies, Brittany Murphy, Aaliyah, and this Whitney movie have been trash. I'm starting to think it's lifetime more so than the directors.

Angela Bassett is a great actress...too bad this cast isn't. Bassett's direction seemed fine too....its just that these people can't act.

I think that Arlen and Yaya can act, but they don't have any chemistry together. Plus, Yaya showed the fragile side of Whitney, but I wanted her to show crazy and fiery side of her too. Whitney was fragile but she had a crazy, outlandish side to her that needed to be seen.

shareAngela can act and she may be a growing director, but I honestly believe she was responsible for her actress's performance. Yaya reminded more of Angela than Whitney. I even saw more of Tina Turner in her performance.

shareShe acts ok but should not direct. Boo on this film. Whitney had a beautiful voice and it is so sad to know how she suffered from the effects of drug abuse. But this film made me cringe.
